My beautiful cousin is getting married! A few months ago I tweeted that I’m going to be a bridesmaid for the very first time in my cousin’s wedding later this year. As part of a wedding gift, I decided to take their engagement photos for them! These photos were taken at one of my absolute favorite wineries in Haymarket, La Grange (one of Haymarket’s best kept secrets…). All we brought with us was a quilt, some books and sunglasses. We lucked out on catching the weather at its best this past weekend, and even stayed for an hour after the photoshoot to enjoy a few carafes of sangria and a basket of chopped salami, cubed havarti, sliced bread and a bucket of truffle bean dip.
These two lovebirds are the cutest thing in the world, and though my cousin isn’t the biggest fan of PDA, they turned out to be (surprisingly) easy to photograph. Friends of the couple know how hard it is to spot these two stealing a kiss or even holding hands in public (the bride despises anything cheesy and prefers zombie thrillers to chick flicks), so getting to capture these rare moments were very special. It’s clear how comfortable they are with each other and how much they care for each other, and some of these photos were just natural moments I captured of them interacting with each other without any direction.
There were a few areas of the vineyard I wanted to take them to for photo ops, but we ended up not needing to go there. As you can see, it’s not really the scenery that makes the photo–it’s how cute these two are when they’re together. 🙂
Congrats, Karen & Khoa! I love you both to pieces. 🙂
