About Me

Hello! My name is Jennie, and I’ve got an endless hunger for food, culture, and spoons full of inspiration. I’m also a wildly adventurous food writer, freelance photographer and college student-athlete based in DC! I love cooking, baking, eating, and am also a professional tackle football player that eats to play, and plays to eat whatever she wants. Join me on my daily food musings as I explore and write about the expanding culinary network of our Nation’s Capital, and show you how to cook the most delectable meals in the cozy comforts of your own home kitchen.

I think the best part about my blog is

Paula Deen says, “We eat first with our eyes”, and I’m pretty sure the best part about my blog would have to be my photography that will have you wishing you were sitting right there with me. I use a professional portrait lens to take photos of everything I eat, so in addition to my writing – you can see and taste each dish with your eyes. My writing is what helps you imagine the atmosphere, culture, smells and tastes that each restaurant has to offer – but my photos are what will make your mouth water.

I started my food blog because

I want people to know that it is possible to live a healthy life style enjoying the most delectable foods and balancing it with fun activities or exercise. In addition – two of my major passions are in writing and photography, which is why I love blogging. I’m very spontaneous, and often find myself wandering around DC looking for something new to try; so I thought – why not document my food adventures with photos and stories? Like the brave and semi-crazy Andrew Zimmern – I will try and eat anything. Having been weaned off of sauteed snails, thousand year old eggs, and the stinkiest fruit you’ll ever meet – there is nothing that I’ll be too afraid to devour. I’m out to find the best of the best, and I’ll try anything and everything to let you know what’s worth tasting, and what’s worth ditching.

I have what it takes to be a Project Food Blog winner because

I have an undying love affair with my one and only addiction to food. Bold, bland, delicious, disgusting – we’ve met our ups and downs, but no matter how life changing or forgettable a dish may be, I’ll never stop exploring what the culinary world has to offer. It just so happens that blogging combines my two major passions in photography and writing; which makes this a unique project that I will swiftly pour my heart and soul into. In addition, I’m not afraid to cook anything in the kitchen, and there isn’t a single recipe that’ll scare me out of there. Bouef Bourguingnon? Savory Souffles? Coq au vin? Bring it on! If you’re ready for an adventure, come with me as I tour and cook my way through the greatest culinary corners of the world that will change the way you see, smell, and savor your very next bite.
